DSH-Tgrep shadows the built-in grep tool with Microsoft tgrep's trigram index so repeated code searches on medium-to-large repositories return without re-walking the tree (about 15x measured), keeping the stock tool contract, native search cards and PTC mode while auto-starting a persistent tgrep daemon and degrading gracefully with no index.
DSH-Tgrep swaps the engine underneath the grep tool the model already knows, replacing the bundled ripgrep binary that re-scans the workspace on every call with Microsoft tgrep's trigram index. On an indexed repository repeated searches return without re-walking every file - the README reports about 15x measured on a mid-size repo - while keeping the native Web GUI search cards, Programmatic Tool Calling mode and the stock tool contract intact. It auto-starts a persistent tgrep daemon per workspace, degrades gracefully to a scan when no index or daemon exists, and registers into each agent's own tool scope so it shadows the built-in grep per agent rather than globally.

Compatibility
Shadows the built-in grep tool per agent through the agent-plane tool scope, without touching stock system presets or the host registry entry. It preserves the stock pattern/path/include schema, the 30 s cooperative timeout, the SearchMeta payload behind the native search card and the call/result presenters, adding case_insensitive and max_results, and it is safe against CLI flag injection through --regexp and -- boundaries. A persistent tgrep serve daemon is started automatically on first use (autoStartDaemon) and can outlive sessions with stopDaemonOnExit: false; with no index and no daemon it degrades to scanning files much like stock grep.
