maple-pwn/paperlab

Overleaf-style LaTeX paper workbench: annotate any text in the rendered PDF and let a dsh agent revise the sources with compile checks and git history.

PaperLab is an Overleaf-style LaTeX paper-revision workbench driven by a DeepSeek Harness plugin. You edit LaTeX and see the real rendered PDF side by side; selecting any text in the PDF creates a page-anchored annotation, and the DSH agent then revises the paper annotation by annotation — read the annotations, make uniquely-matched edits, compile-check, and commit to git. It ships three draggable panes (source, true PDF rendering, agent trace), auto-save and auto-compile, a Locate action that shows the pre-revision text in a red popup, a history browser with arbitrary diffs and one-click revert, in-workbench switching of model, reasoning effort and agent preset, and one-click export of sources (plus annotations), PDF or git history. Every project is a git repository with AI checkpoints.

Install

dsh plugin --profile paperlab add dsh-paperlab

The README documents three forms: the npm form above (it uses a profile named 'paperlab'), the equivalent 'dsh plugin --profile paperlab add github:maple-pwn/paperlab', and a local './' form. The npm package dsh-paperlab 0.1.2 was re-verified live on 2026-10-02 with its repository field back-linking to maple-pwn/paperlab (MIT). The repo root is an official-format DSH bundle (dsh.bundle + cordis.patch.yml + prebuilt lib/). The README's own warning: installing a plugin runs third-party code with your permissions.

Compatibility

DeepSeek Harness; a bundle install requires a restart. The workbench it fronts is a separate FastAPI server plus a React/Vite UI shipped in the same repository, started outside DSH. Auto-detects XeLaTeX and respects latexmkrc with a multi-engine fallback chain. The AI engine runs entirely inside DSH; the UI never calls model APIs directly.

FAQ

How do I install PaperLab?
dsh plugin --profile paperlab add dsh-paperlab (npm dsh-paperlab 0.1.2, registry re-verified 2026-10-02); the README also documents dsh plugin --profile paperlab add github:maple-pwn/paperlab and a local '.' form.
Does the PaperLab UI call the model itself?
No — the README's architecture table says the AI engine runs entirely inside DeepSeek Harness; the FastAPI server and React UI never call model APIs directly.
What else do I need besides DSH?
A LaTeX toolchain (the README notes automatic XeLaTeX detection with latexmkrc support and a multi-engine fallback chain) and the repo's FastAPI workbench server; the plugin install itself runs third-party code with your permissions.
