zmh2000829/dsh-web-search-multi

Configures web search in DeepSeek Harness: choose SearXNG, Brave, Tavily, Gemini or Wikipedia in Web settings and enable or disable search independently below each conversation's composer. It uses DSH's native web_search tool, defaults to keyless Wikipedia, and sends each query only to the selected provider with no implicit fallback or fan-out.

dsh-web-search-multi configures web search in DeepSeek Harness so you can choose SearXNG, Brave, Tavily, Gemini or Wikipedia in Web settings and enable or disable search independently below each conversation's composer, all through DSH's native web_search tool. Each backend comes with a clear trade-off table: SearXNG is free when self-hosted but you operate the instance and its upstream engines; Wikipedia is free and keyless but encyclopedic only; Tavily and Brave offer general web with API keys and monthly credits then paid usage; Gemini uses Google AI search with API billing handled separately. Wikipedia is the default so a first encyclopedia query works with no setup, and pricing/quotas are left to the user to verify since they change.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-web-search-multi@latest

Copied verbatim from the README's Install block, which labels this the recommended npm installation for DSH 0.1.5-rc.2. The same section documents a local link:$PWD form and a pinned dsh-web-search-multi@0.2.0 form, plus a remove command.

Compatibility

Plugin 0.2.3 requires dsh 0.1.5-rc.2; plugin 0.2.0 targets DSH 0.1.1-rc.2 and is not compatible with the newer settings API. Node.js ^22.19 or >=24. The default Wikipedia backend needs no credential; the others need a JSON-enabled SearXNG instance or an API credential. Each query is sent only to the selected provider — the plugin has no implicit fallback or fan-out.
