Milvus for DSH lets a DSH Desktop or Web agent inspect and search a Milvus deployment from chat. It supports Local Milvus Standalone and Zilliz Cloud, exact entity lookup, scalar queries, BM25 full-text search (run entirely from the collection's Milvus Function schema, no external key), and dense+BM25 hybrid retrieval where natural-language dense search uses a DSH-managed embedding provider. Setup follows the same order as using Milvus: connect a deployment (with an optional authentication token and a Test connection step), pick one collection that DSH inspects for fields, indexes and Functions, then enable only the capabilities you need — scalar query, BM25, semantic and hybrid. The README is explicit that every operation exposed by the plugin is read-only: it does not create collections, insert data, change indexes, or delete anything.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add @zilliz/dsh-milvusCopied verbatim from the README's Install section (DSH Web; in DSH Desktop you add @zilliz/dsh-milvus from Plugins → Add plugin). The README also shows an npx --yes @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.2.0-rc.2 plugin ... form when dsh is not installed globally, and says to restart DSH Desktop or Web after installing or updating.
Compatibility
Requires DSH Desktop or Web 0.2.0-rc.2, Node.js 22.19 or later, and a Milvus HTTP(S) endpoint reachable from the DSH host. Dense and hybrid search optionally need an API key from a supported embedding provider. The active connection is bound when a new chat starts.
